Start with one symptom and one change
When your TV or sound system stops behaving as expected, make one change at a time and check the result. Start with the device’s normal controls and its model-specific instructions. Stop if you notice damaged power wiring, a burning smell or unusual heat. Leave mounted equipment, electrical work and hard-to-reach connections to a professional. Keep track of which check
changed the behavior so you can return to the starting point.
Check the TV input and the audio source
For a missing picture, confirm that the TV is on the input used by the device you want to watch. If a receiver sits between that device and the TV, check the receiver’s selected source too. A source changed by accident can look like a failed system
For missing sound, check mute and volume on the device actually producing the audio. Then check whether the TV is set to its own speakers or the connected audio system. These are separate controls on many setups.
Check an HDMI ARC or eARC connection
If TV audio should return to a soundbar or receiver, the connection needs the appropriate ARC or eARC ports and compatible settings. Labels and menu names differ by model, so follow the manuals for both devices. Sony’s ARC/eARC troubleshooting instructions provide a
manufacturer example.

If the fault persists, contact Electronic Wizards for help with the setup. If the issue is on a computer rather than the entertainment system, our computer repair service is the better place to
start. A repeat failure deserves investigation instead of a cycle of resets

Frequently Asked Questions
The source, connection or device processing can introduce an audio timing difference. Compare another program or source first. Then consult the model’s audio-sync instructions rather than changing several sound settings at once.
The program and selected sound mode may not use every speaker. For example, Denon documents stereo modes that use only the front speakers and subwoofer on supported receivers. Check the content format and your model’s sound mode before assuming a rear speaker has failed.
Amazon provides a Fire TV mobile app that can act as a remote. Its setup instructions require the phone and Fire TV to be on the same Wi-Fi network. If the Fire TV is not connected, a compatible physical remote or further setup help may be needed.
Some equipment offers a dialogue or voice-enhancement setting. The available controls depend on the model, so check its manual and describe the listening problem before assuming a new speaker is required.
Compare another app on the same device. If the other app works, check the affected service’s status and its own help instructions. Avoid changing the whole system until you have established whether the problem is limited to that service
There is no reliable single lifespan for every device. Condition, ventilation, use and software support all matter. When deciding whether to replace a component, consider what has failed and whether the unit still supports the connections and features you need.
HDMI-CEC can let a connected device control the TV’s power. Sony calls related controls BRAVIA Sync on many models. Check the model-specific auto-power setting if the behavior is unwanted; changing all HDMI controls at once can also affect functions you use.
An intermittent fault can depend on the source, connection or circumstances. Note the time, the device in use and what happened just before the failure. A short video of the symptom can be more useful than trying to reproduce it from memory.
Include the TV and audio-system models, which source you were using, the exact symptom and
any error message. Add the checks already tried and whether the fault affects every source.
